Padmashree Michel Postel, a visionary French entrepreneur, founded Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals on May 1, 1949, with the goal of making quality healthcare accessible in India.
A former Squadron Leader in the U.S. Air Force, he brought passion and leadership from his career as a fighter pilot into the pharmaceutical industry. Michel Postel’s journey reflects the spirit of a self-made innovator, an accomplished writer and art lover inspired by Indian culture, he received the Padmashree in 2016 and France’s National Order of Merit in 1971. His enduring legacy is celebrated at the Musée Asiatica and through Franco-Indian Pharma’s continued success.
