Description
- SORBILINE® Solution contains Tricholine Citrate, which is a salt of choline, an important lipotropic factor, deficiency of which leads to fatty infiltration of the liver. Fatty infiltration of the liver is present in several conditions e.g. diabetes mellitus, malnutrition, chronic alcoholism, etc. Tricholine Citrate can also be converted into methionine, an important amino acid in the human body. Choline converts fat into phospholipids like, lecithin, which is essential to biomembrane structure and its function. Lecithin is also a major component of High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and is used to mobilize cholesterol from cell membrane. In patients with fatty liver, increased rate of phospholipid turnover has been observed following administration of choline. Sorbitol assists in stimulating gall bladder contraction thus facilitating the entry of bile into the duodenum , and also stimulates intestinal peristalsis.
Indications
- Fatty infiltration of the liver, which is common in malnutrition, malabsorption, chronic alcoholism, obesity and diabetes mellitus.
- Hepatobiliary and digestive disorders such as biliary atonia or hypotonia, non-obstructive biliary lithiasis, post hepatitis and chronic hepatic insufficiency.
