Description
Obesity is a major health issue linked to Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, though the exact disease mechanisms remain complex.
Orlistat is a potent, reversible inhibitor of gastric and pancreatic lipases. It works in the stomach and small intestine by blocking fat-digesting enzymes, preventing the breakdown and absorption of dietary fats.
By reducing fat absorption, Orlistat creates a caloric deficit, supporting effective weight loss and weight management.
Indications
- LIPOPHAGE® is indicated for obesity management including weight loss and weight maintenance when used in conjunction with a low-calorie diet.
- LIPOPHAGE® is also indicated to reduce the risk for weight regain after prior weight loss.
- LIPOPHAGE® is indicated for obese patients with an initial body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 kg/m or ≥ 27 kg/m' in the presence of other CVD risk factors.
